In Ishgard, names carry weight, but Chevalier carried implication. Knight. Protector. Instrument of the Fury’s will. It was spoken with expectation long before Vital Chevalier ever lifted a blade, and from the moment he could understand it, he decided the expectation was not a burden, but proof. He did not aspire to knighthood, he considered it his birthright.Raised within the high stone walls of Ishgardian nobility, Vital grew in a household where reputation mattered more than righteousness. His family was neither the most powerful nor the most devout, but they were old enough (and connected enough) that doors opened without question. He learned early that the world did not deny him; it simply required the correct pressure. And Vital was very good at applying pressure.As a boy, he was beautiful in the way Elezen often are: refined, striking, distant. He learned quickly how to weaponize it, for charm came easily. So did cruelty. He discovered that people would give freely when they admired him, and give reluctantly when they feared him. Either way, he received what he wanted.By adolescence, he had already cultivated a quiet reputation: brilliant with a blade, intolerably arrogant, and utterly uninterested in the moral instruction that so often accompanied his station. He did not care for Ishgard’s sermons of restraint and sacrifice. Those, he believed, were for lesser men without the means to take.Knighthood came exactly when it was expected. He entered the order not as a humbled servant of the Holy See, but as something closer to a prince stepping into his inheritance. To his credit, Vital proved himself. On the field, he was precise, decisive, and unnervingly composed. He did not hesitate. He did not second-guess. Where others fought for faith, Vital fought for control, and with control came triumph.Beyond the rigid structure of the Vault and the sanctimony of the clergy, Vital found his true playground in the hidden veins of Ishgardian nobility: the indulgent, decadent undercurrent that pulsed beneath its austere surface. He moved through it all with effortless confidence: private gatherings that dissolved into excess, alliances forged through whispered secrets and quiet leverage, and the beautiful, powerful people who could be collected as easily as coin with just the right flourish. Rather than hide his appetite for the debased rumors of the elite, he refined them in order to stay ever on top of the little world he was designing.If something (or someone!) caught his interest, he pursued it with unwavering focus. Sometimes he seduced. Sometimes he manipulated. Sometimes he simply outlasted. In Vital’s mind, ownership was not a moral question, but a matter of capability. If he could take it, then it was always meant to be his. What makes Vital dangerous is not simply his arrogance. It’s that the world he was reared in, the world that he molded around himself, has rarely given him reason to doubt it. His name shields him. His skill justifies him. His charm excuses him. Every line he crosses is blurred by status, buried by influence, or reframed as a knight’s ambition.He has never truly been denied, so he has come to believe something very simple: he is what Ishgard was always meant to produce. Vital is a knight not bound by honor, but by dominion.

Ishgard's Underbelly

You learn the truth of the long rumored underground of Ishgardian high society. Whether you're new to the scene or a familiar face amongst elitist debauchery, you come across Vital while attending one of these soirées.

At What Cost

You have come to Vital for a favor of some kind. To your surprise or not, he grants it. Upfront and without hesitation. The only thing missing from the conversation is the price. What will it be? When will it come?

White Whale

Vital has taken an interest in you for some reason or another. Your beauty? Your charm? Your secrets? Your wealth? Your mystery? Whatever it is, it's ignited his compulsion to claim. His usual tricks haven't worked, however, for instead of entertaining his flights of fancy, you deny him outright. No one has ever told him "no." Not like this. Vital, unused to denial, becomes fixated. What starts as amusement turns into a calculated pursuit: gifts, pressure, social maneuvering, perhaps threats. Whatever it takes to win his prize.

Something to Protect

There's something about you that intrigues Vital in a way he's never experienced before. Instead of a desire to take, he's inundated with a desire to protect. Who are you? Just what is it that makes him buckle so?

Forbidden Attachment

Who doesn't love a little secret romance? An attraction blossoms that could damage his carefully curated reputation. Vital should walk away, leave the feelings in the dust. But they are not fleeting desires. How could this story unfold?
